Monstera Adansonii 'Large Form' Care Sheet
Common Name: Large Form Monstera Adansonii / Swiss cheese plant
Scientific Name: Monstera adansonii 'Large Form'
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light but may not grow as vigorously and the leaves may lose their characteristic holes.
Water:
Allow the top 2–3 cm of soil to dry out before watering. Water thoroughly but ensure the pot has drainage to prevent root rot.
Humidity:
Loves high humidity. Mist regularly, use a humidity tray, or place near a humidifier for optimal growth.
Temperature:
Thrives in temperatures between 18–27°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 10°C.
Soil:
Use a well-draining, peat-based potting mix. A mix designed for aroids or indoor plants is ideal.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding in winter.
Pruning:
Trim leggy vines to maintain shape. Cut just above a node to encourage branching and fuller growth.
Toxicity:
Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
