Common Name: Silver Lady Fern
Scientific Name: Blechnum gibbum 'Silver Lady'
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate some shade but avoid direct sunlight, which may scorch the fronds.
Water:
Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top layer of soil feels slightly dry.
Humidity:
Loves high humidity. Mist regularly or use a humidity tray or humidifier, especially in dry indoor conditions.
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–24°C. Keep away from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 10°C.
Soil:
Use a rich, well-draining potting mix with good moisture retention. A peat-based fern mix works well.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during the growing season with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer.
Pruning:
Remove old or damaged fronds at the base to encourage healthy new growth.
Toxicity:
Generally considered non-toxic to pets and humans.
