Description
Monstera Obliqua Care Sheet
Common Name: Monstera Obliqua
Scientific Name: Monstera obliqua
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch its delicate leaves. Low light can slow its growth and affect the leaf perforations.
Water:
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil is dry. Ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.
Humidity:
Thrives in high humidity. Mist regularly, use a humidity tray, or place near a humidifier to maintain optimal humidity levels.
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–29°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 10°C.
Soil:
Use a well-draining, airy potting mix, ideally with added perlite or orchid bark to enhance drainage and aeration.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding during the winter months.
Pruning:
Trim any leggy growth or damaged leaves as needed to maintain shape. Cut just above a node to encourage new growth.
Toxicity:
Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
